Beer drinkers - be prepared to reach deeper into your pockets, with the average price of a schooner set to hit $12.
Beer is being slugged with a second tax increase in just six months, rising at the fastest rate in 30 years. @WesternWilson9#9News
The cost of a pint at the pub is set to soar to a 30-year high. Beer prices are set to jump thanks to inflation. Brewers are demanding the federal government offer assistance to the hospitality industry, fearing tax hikes will drive away vital business. https://t.co/USAGJhtD1j

Great to meet Colin Boyce, LNP candidate for Flynn at the Grand Hotel in Gladstone and hear his strong support for a draught beer tax cut. @Colin4Callide @Hoges5 @ferg1961 @JasonBartlett3
Great to see strong support for our proposal for a permanent 50% cut to draught beer tax. Really important we act for all Australians who enjoy a beer at their local and for our pubs and clubs. @AHANSW @ferg1961 @JasonBartlett3
Absolutely spot on. We’ve got the 4th highest beer tax in the world. Great opportunity at the upcoming Budget for the Gov to ease pressure on beer drinkers.
If we want to get people back into the CBD why not slash Australia’s insane alcohol excise taxes which make a night out on the tiles so damn expensive?
Australia also has the fourth highest beer taxes in the world. The Government increases the beer tax goes up quietly each six months, but the Government never tells anyone about it.
