@davebftv Whole thing is they bought that land to make a grand football environment. IN ILLINOIS! State Legislature, Gov and Mayor Johnson (complete joke) screwed up. They couldn’t see putting 3 years worth of support equaling 50 years of revenue. Subsidy would be peanuts to revenue.

Failed leadership by Mayor, Gov and Legislature. Arlington Heights revenue would have crushed the initial expense of the State to build roads & curbside infrastructure. Bears bought the land, have the historic franchise and the song, Pride and Joy of Illinois. Arlington Heights revenue would have easily surpassed the tax subsidy the Bears wanted. Illinois would make great money in a very short time. They put the next 3 years over a long term positive investment. I hate this to my guts. But my conviction is the Legislature and Governor grossly mishandled this business venture. 🐻⬇️

@TerryMoran This was caused by poor leadership by Illinois Governor, the legislature and the Mayor of Chicago. An agreement could’ve been made but the state and city kept kicking the can down the road.
