Sixteen young lives lost at Utumishi. While many moved on, our future president has continued to push for accountability and better safety standards in schools. The best way to honour those students is to ensure such a tragedy never happens again.
Joining the Utumishi Girls Academy family at Gilgil Stadium for the requiem mass of the 16 young souls who lost their lives in the recent fire. The sense and scale of loss here is unimaginable yani. We continue to pray that God comforts the bereaved families.
Edwin Sifuna received a presidential-style welcome in Gilgil as residents turned out in large numbers to see and listen to him. The excitement was visible everywhere, with crowds lining up to welcome him and show their support.
What stood out most was the warm reception from all corners. From ordinary wananchi to government officials, many were happy to see him and interact with him. The atmosphere was full of energy, smiles, and hope as people gathered to hear his message.
The reception once again showed Sifuna's growing influence across the country, proving that his leadership continues to attract people from different backgrounds and political affiliations. Gilgil truly rolled out the red carpet for him.
Many of the people who once worked closely with Raila Odinga are now part of the Linda Mwananchi movement.
Meet Ammar Kassim Akbas, a talented photographer and content producer who previously worked with Raila Odinga. Today, he believes in Babu Owino's leadership and has joined his team as his official photographer.
Ammar is now proudly part of the growing Linda Mwananchi family, a movement that continues to attract experienced and dedicated professionals from across the country.
In the wake of the heartbreaking tragedy in Gilgil, SG Edwin Sifuna stands in solidarity with the affected families and the entire community. During moments of profound loss, compassion, unity, and support become more important than ever.
A sad day in Gilgil, a sad day for Utumishi fraternity, a sad in Kenya, a sad day for Kenyans.
Today I accompanied Sen Sifuna to Gilgil for the Requiem Mass for the 16 girls we lost at Utumishi Girls Academy. And my heart is surely broken…watching those coffins being phased in, the flowers placed on top, the photos of those innocent girls being eased in. Oh the families wailing and mourning, my heart is saddened. They for sure didn’t deserve this.
May the Lord grant them peace, that surpasses human understanding, May He see them through this difficult season.
May the souls of those beautiful girls rest in eternal peace 🤍
