Individuals that never partner might have been less attractive on the marriage market due to chronic illness or specific behavior that are correlated with earlier mortality. Hence they are single for the same reason they die younger.

@HonorataBogusz This study also only considers individuals who pursued an academic career. That means there is a large self-selection into an unhealthy (in the sense you write about) working atmosphere. That is why is was not surprising "work-life balance" was not higher.
Not only where we live, the tenure of the housing, or being in an adequate dwelling matter when becoming a parent 🏨👨🍼🏚️🤱. Our attachment to the neighbourhood changes these relationships. Come see me talk about it!
