@KySportsRadio We have time for portal players. The window for when they enter is April 7-21. Once they enter you have unlimited time to recruit them. It’s not like after April 21 you can’t offer and they can’t accept offers. We will have time to build a roster. Patience is needed but I can’t!
@FredJohnsonf2@MarioMaitland_3 Leaving had nothing to do with fans. At events fan treated him awesome and when he was in home games fans cheered for him. This was about the Benjiman’s and nothing else. You can’t tell me his NIL offer and role went down and wasn’t what he wanted. He moved on to another employer
@FredJohnsonf2@MarioMaitland_3 Jasper needed a year or two to develop. Unfortunately for him he was played before he was ready and at a position he wasn’t accustomed too. Then his uncle shot his mouth off. Not good for Jasper. True Ky fan wanted him back to develop. Keegan must have said not at last year NIL.
@TimSorrell9@MarioMaitland_3 He couldn’t guard Tamin Lipsey who averages 14pts and shoots 46%. But he did get some minutes on a team that had 4 wins and finished 2nd to last in the SEC. Iowa St will continue to drum UK if we take Perry level talent players. I wish Perry the best, he deserves it.
@CBeasmoreSports I wish he could have stayed. He was fun to watch and I think he always put in the effort everyday. I’m not sure how you invest $3mil in a player averaging 9 pts a game especially given the fact he had the green light to score 20. I really liked him.
@BarstoolUK Hopefully we don’t sign a bunch of players that are subs from mid-majors making us a middle of the road SEC team. We need only the top players from mid-majors and the top 1-3 players from the majors. But please give us at least 2 knock down shooters and a really good big.
@KySportsRadio You have to start wondering if Pope isn’t making the NIL deals now and the new GM is. It only makes sense considering how much it was reported the players were making and now they’re entering the portal. If their NIL was so high how can they get more considering their play.
@SteinsStuds If and that’s a big if, he comes back. Yes, you would be crazy not to give it a go. Not for last year NiL but definitely his current NIL value.
@StockTalks21 As a fan I think we buy in to the 30 second highlight videos and what’s posted about how great they are. Then we get the real eye test and it comes up short of expectations.
@JackPilgrimKSR If he didn’t like the role Pope planned for him or the NIL offer I get it. If our employer, and that’s what UK was to Jasper, put us in a role we didn’t like and cut our pay we would probably look to work somewhere else. It’s not about tradition anymore about employment.
@kentuckyhoopsig Yes, if he works on his defense and gets stronger he has the skills to be a good guard for Ky. He needs to play off the ball like Dillingham. He wasn’t ready to play point guard, but doing so will make him better next year.
@KySportsRadio Pope put this staff together in like two weeks. That’s all the time he had because Cal left with less than a month to hit the portal. Hopefully he will hire someone who can recruit/evaluate talent.
@RuppToNoGood If everyone stayed and we picked up two high volume shooters I wonder if we could be competitive? All depends on healthy and 100%. Try to find an Oweh replacement with the 2 shooters and I think yes.
@KentuckyHypeMan Noah is a great complimentary player. He works hard, if needed can put some minutes in and Ky tradition means something. He’s a mandatory keeper at the right price.
@TorresOnUK Players, parents and agents wanted NIL and Portal. They didn’t think of the consequences. Ask for million + and produce at $250k and you will be asked to leave. If normal people preformed that bad in their job they would be shown the door. JJ could stay and prove everyone wrong.
