@RealScottWolter One reason our society is setting us up to also become a civilization that lost its early tech and craftsmanship is AI. As people save money with AI, they are also doing away with our need for those skilled in the trades and crafts. Your example is an answer to why lost tech.

Say it’s for education, but take what was education funds and use it for something else. That way they can say it benefits education, when it supplants education budget dollars.
