Eight years ago, Emmerson Mnangagwa proudly announced a US$5.2 billion fuel deal that was supposed to make Zimbabwe self-sufficient, create jobs, and transform the economy.

Today, there is no fuel production, no transformation, and no tangible benefit to Zimbabweans.

Since coming into power through the 2017 Zimbabwean coup d'état, Mnangagwa and ZANU-PF have repeatedly announced billion-dollar deals that exist only on paper. These so-called “mega projects” have become nothing more than political propaganda—designed to mislead citizens into believing there is progress, while in reality, the country continues to regress.

Zimbabweans are still facing:
Economic collapse
High unemployment
Decayed infrastructure
Rising cost of living

The pattern is clear: grand promises, zero delivery. Zimbabwe does not need leadership built on false promises and empty deals. It needs accountability, transparency, and real development that people can see and feel.
Zimbabwe deserves better.
