@Polysesouvient I wish we could start identifying the make and models of cars that drunk drivers use, then we could outlaw those and solve drunk driving deaths once and for all. The SKS is the Honda Civic of the gun world.
@BrandyBouquet@rcmpmb Canada has a confusing, poorely written and equally poorely implemented legislation called The Firearms Act that regulates the various aspects of firearms, including classification. Gun crime is emphasised by media, it represents a fraction (~3%) of violent crime in Canada.
@NYJetzFan @robjerico@rcmpmb There's actually a bunch of people that have inventories of old long guns they buy up at estate sales and farm auctions, cleanup and repair if necessary, and resell at gun shows. A few of the items in those pics are collector pieces worth high hundreds and some over a thousand.
@MPencington@BillBlair This is the guy who oversaw the mass arrests of hundreds of innocent people during the 2010 G20 Summit during his tenure as Toronto's Chief of Police, so tyrannical government overreach is on his Resume already.
@mars_shun@BillBlair@CailinasEirinn Bill and Justin only target legal gun owners that have no effect or involvement in illegal gun use. If they meaningfully reduced gun violence, they'd lose an important chunk of the election platform the Liberals have been abusing for the last thirty years.
@PAAJacko @BillBlair@tylermeredith The actual Horrifying part is that these guns are already all on the streets of Canada's biggest cities, in the hands of criminals, and the Liberals have done nothing in the past six years to affect that. Their efforts are exclusively aimed at the law-abiding.
@TWilsonOttawa It's sad for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that she recognizes the problem so well makes her doubly qualified to be part of the solution, but instead has made the difficult choice not to continue to expose herself and loved ones to ongoing toxicity.
@ljeds@RBlakeBrown As a Licensed firearm owner, he and all the others get an RCMP check every day of their life to see they've been associated with any criminal activity in the last 24 hours. The guys shooting up playgrounds in Toronto don't have to worry about that kind of scrutiny from Trudeau.
@lindawinda6 @RBlakeBrown Every gun law the Liberals have proposed and passed predominantly restrict licensed gun ownership, except for the few laws they're changing to reduce penalties and make bail release easier for convicted illegal gun traffickers and violent offenders.
@nofunsincanada@RBlakeBrown We'll see if @RBlakeBrown calls out the Associated Canadian Car Rental Operators for not condemning the 2018 Toronto Van attack on it's anniversary in a few days.
@Snellk The CBC and other media falsely link violence with gun ownership. If "Journalists" actually did journalism rather than just reprinting RCMP & Liberal government press releases, they'd find that 99.99% of firearms use in Canada is safe, but non-violence doesn't make the news.
@JeffChilds2@GEEBEE25080796 @Christo99742320 @RBlakeBrown In fact, it's apparent you don't know anything about modern shooting sports, most of which are timed engagements of multiple shoot and no-shoot targets which must be completed within the boundaries of a strict set of rules.
@BillBlair The total number of Canadian deaths and injuries by these all of these firearms combined in the last 50 years is exponentially dwarfed by the number of alcohol and marijuana related Canadian deaths in the last 365 days.
@Polysesouvient@CPC_HQ@GlenMotz @MHNJeremyAppel Legal Alcohol and Cannabis kill far more people every year than rifles, and no country in history has been able to show a causal link between firearm bans and homicide reduction.
