Dwyane Wade says it’s difficult for LeBron James to retire because he’s still playing at an elite level:
“I’m just here to appreciate what I’m witnessing…because we’ve never seen this before. It has to suck a little bit to get to this point in your career and still be really good….like I can still play — I can go play right now and still be able to play but I won’t be that good so it’s easy for me to decide to walk away. It’s hard to make that decision when you’re still really f*cking good….how do you walk away from being a GOAT when you’re still a GOAT?”

Davion Mitchell will arrive in Greece on July 19 and spend a week to work out and start building a relationship with two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in Antetokounmpo’s home country.
Mitchell wants to build chemistry with his new Heat teammate, so he’s traveling all the way to Greece to do it.

The Golden State Warriors are as involved as any team in the LeBron James sweepstakes and him signing with the Warriors is still “very much on the table”, per @JakeLFischer
There is widespread “back door speculation” that Bucks GM Jon Horst had a prearranged handshake deal with Gary Trent Jr. over his 4-year, $64M contract.
Trent Jr. previously signed short-term, below-market deals with Milwaukee. Rumors suggest these contracts were a “wink-wink” strategy to secure his Bird Rights, allowing the team to pay him later.

Norman Powell says he wanted to return to the Miami Heat:
“Did I want to return to Miami? Yeah, I did but obviously, it’s a business. They made their decisions and made their moves and things happen. And it is what it is.”

The Miami Heat view Bam Adebayo as “Heat royalty” and as their modern-day Udonis Haslem, per @TheSteinLine. 👀
“He is Heat royalty for Micky Arison, Nick Arison, Pat Riley — he’s the modern day Udonis Haslem. They consider him as an absolute franchise pillar. I’ve always heard that’s he’s held in high regards by teammates as well.”

The Bucks and Trent's reps worked through negotiations since the NBA Finals ended in mid-June while also sorting through sign-and-trade possibilities from interested teams over the last week. The sides moved toward completing a new deal together Saturday.
Ja Morant on his reputation:
"Obviously I've done what I’ve done in the past, but it's been addressed and handled already. So I don't see why years later that's still a topic when nothing's happened since."

If this is about a documentary, there are plenty of angles that could be explored with a return to Miami, beyond just the reminiscing about the Big Three or leaving the game with another legend (Riley). Partnership between LeBron & a decade-younger superstar would be compelling.
WPLG and ABC divorcing not only ultimately provided a path for Heat games to air on free television, but also gives the station more freedom to do things like airing the Giannis presser live and a prime time special later in the day.
Tyler Herro has been described by opposing players and coaches as someone who consistently talks trash and insinuates he'll fight.
"Same boring tough-guy shit."

The Miami Heat’s main frustration with Tyler Herro was his lack of availability,
Per @5ReasonsSports
“The main frustration they had with him more than any other, is they would believe he was ready to play. He would be cleared… The thing they didn’t like about the Herro experience is that he wouldn’t play unless he was 100% healthy. That’s the way they viewed it. If he was rusty, he didn’t want to be out there. They felt also that there were family influences that led to some of that…. The Heat were frustrated that they felt he was ready to go and he’d say that he’d be ready in a couple of weeks.”

Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro were both reportedly unhappy after Bam Adebayo received his max extension. 😳
Jimmy has distanced himself from Bam, while Herro talked behind his back and even shared a graphic taking shots at him on Instagram…
