I never forgot the feeling when I saw my photos go P1 for the first time. #iums was my first beat and seeing it on page was unreal. To take that away from reporters is taking away a physical manifestation of the hard work you put into everything you do for your beat.
Despite the opportunities this paper gives designers and its revenue, being able to hold my work is a special feeling. The first time I saw my photos on the front page I was so proud. Very upsetting that our new photographers won’t be able to experience this.
