Delving back into the Classic Who episodes. Sylvester McCoy at the moment. The pacing is horrific (as it was for most of classic Who) but the dialog is so, so good.
HELM: Hey, in about four years I think we'll hit the Van Kyper Belt, we can stop and shave you a nice methane Slushpuppy.
CAP: You know, you're not fun without gravity.
HELM: It may surprise you to know that no one has ever told me that before
*traveling through space*
CAP: So what's happening now?
HELM: We're still traveling through space.
CAP: Nothing seems to be moving.
HELM: Thats what it looks like. Everything is so far away.
HELM: Look we can't just set out into space and expect to find things. Everything is so far apart you'll probably slip between them. Not only that, when you do see something it's usually just a rock or frozen gas block.
CAP: Space is Emmmpppttttyyy...
@Gingerblast I do typically do a search for winning tactics first before I tinker with the difficulty, mostly because usually it means I'm missing a fun gameplay mechanic.
BUT I am not opposed to turning down the difficulty if its the difference between enjoying a game or walking away.
Its interesting how my fanaticism for Doctor Who, Douglas Adams, D&D, and Infocom pretty much inspire most of the more pleasant parts of my life, and my fanaticism around spirituality and politics (Christianity and Paganism) have been a bottomless well of misery.
@she_obey That damn shame.
Thats the dynamic that makes me furious when people glow about the magical benefits of ignorance.
Shame makes the parent's ignorance easier while it kills and scars their children.
@DavidARFerguson@AbortionChat But that logic assumes that your beliefs are correct.
I believe that people shouldn't eat much meat and dairy. I believe that this behavior is linked to cancer.
Should we deny cancer treatment to omnivores because no-one has a right to consequence free carnivorous behavior?
@DavidARFerguson@AbortionChat You want people slapped for not abiding by behavioral guidelines that were arbitrary when they were laid out and are now quite archaic.
And the fact that you don't personally do the slapping just reinforces your believe that it's part of a bigger design.
