Held fruitful discussions with His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium on strengthening Kenya-Belgium relations and expanding cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure and tourism.
I thanked Belgium for being the leading destination for Kenyan coffee exports and highlighted the growing opportunities for trade and investment between our two countries. I also briefed His Majesty on the outcomes of the Kenya-Belgium Business Forum and our efforts to create an enabling environment for business and investment.
We discussed opportunities to enhance regional connectivity through the extension of the Northern Corridor road and rail network to Kinshasa, strengthening transport links between the Port of Mombasa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
We further discussed cooperation in tourism and I invited His Majesty to make a maiden visit to Kenya and experience the world-renowned wildebeest migration.
Rigathi Gachagua: The 50 million awarded to me is an insult to my fundamental rights and freedoms and a mockery of the constitution. We are not interested; money was never the issue here, justice and constitutional supremacy were. If I were interested in money, Ruto had offered me 2 billion in an effort to entice me to avoid impeachment and choose resignation, but I stood for my rights and those of over 7 million Kenyans who voted for me. No offer, no amount of money can stand between me, my rights, and the rights of the citizens of Kenya under the constitution. If I could reject 2 billion, offering me 50 million is a serious joke
Senator Joe Nyutu: The government is set to receive KSh 2 billion from the US. Can they explain to Kenyans and convince them that the motivation is not the money, and that President Ruto is not prioritizing American interests at the expense of Kenyans in the hope of securing US support ahead of next year's elections?#CitizenDayBreak
