A scammer used @CompaniesHouse to set up a fake company using our address. Probably with the intent of using it to apply for loans.

I contacted @CompaniesHouse today to ask they remove my address from their public website.

@CompaniesHouse is a government agency that does seemingly no data validation or verification.

I’m now having to file reports and check with credit agencies to make sure no loans are applied for in my name because of they seem to think they have no duty of care to the public.

Turns out *I* have to provide proof of address for them to REMOVE my address from their records.

I asked what proof of address the scammer used when registering and only to be they didn’t. They just accept any filing and publish it as long as they get their £12 fee.
