@deanlestercoast @TAB_Racing Big money going on in the last 15 seconds of betting as a result of algorithm punting, the money placed by people like Zeljko Ranogajec who skim the tote bettors by 5% to 10% whenever they bet.
@shanemcalister @TAB_Racing Excellent question. Everything Tod says is advised by someone because he knows zero. Just like predecessor John Allen, he needs people around him to tell him what to say, but buffoons have a tendency to surround themselves with buffoons
@craigkhutchison If they didn't expect it why did they miss their budgets? It doesn't matter what they expect, it's what comes in that keeps the industry alive, and it's not enough
@LuvleeRacing I did highlight that strange rule introduced in the legislation about an avenue for accepting bets 30 seconds into a race, but I'm not suggesting the bets were placed after the start in the dog race I quoted.
@LuvleeRacing That's not the point. It's the massive weight of money that was placed late that supports the context of my argument. Arguing over 90 seconds changes nothing.
@HallPania Just wondering if that is Eight Carat's 1980 foal Cotehele House because we had her at Ra Ora Stud and bred her first three foals - she went to Australia in May 1989 - the colour and markings look familiar.
@downestips I'm told from Sydney that NSW can't afford the latest round of increases, but that story tells you how they intend paying for it, and taking money from the punter in that manner is akin to shooting yourself in the foot. Sorry for the slow reply.
@downestips@Kieran_McAnulty@riborgnz@winstonpeters The RIB and Kieran McAnulty do not possess enough knowledge of our industry to know how it works or how they would fix it - they are prime examples of government interference at an exorbitant cost providing zero contribution
@downestips I have been reliably informed the industry can't afford these prizemoney increases, and if you keep blowing the prizemoney bubble it will burst - unfortunately, V'landys doesn't want to cooperate with Victoria, he wants to crush them
