With rollout #Power10 computer range, we say goodbye to old friend #AIX 6.1. No ifs, buts or exceptions = hypervisor halts AIX 6.1 on boot as is needs P7 mode.
Time to upgrade & you will be surprised. On AIX 7.3 find /usr/lpp/bos/pre_migration & run on your AIX 6.1 = "no worries"

The best thing - there ARE plans to rebase VIOS on #IBMAIX 7.3. If you are still on VIOS 2.2, you must upgrade to VIOS 3.1 ASAP. Otherwise it could be a real BIG problem for you. #IBMChampion #PowerVM
