It was so special donating with my dad at the @RedCross x Metallica Blood Drive. The @metallica concert in Landover, MD was Amazing! And now seeing this shout-out from #Metallica - I'm still in disbelief. What an incredible week! 🎸🤘 #grateful#M72#M72Landover#AWMH#RedCross
For the #M72Landover#BleedingMe recap, we’re turning things over to Brian, a Metallica fan who not only gives blood, but knows what it’s like to be on the receiving end.
In 2004, Brian was involved in a near-fatal accident. He received 36 blood transfusions and 13 plasma treatments from the @RedCross, which he credits with saving his life. Two months after leaving the ICU, still in his wheelchair and the thick of recovery, he attended his first Metallica show.
“[Yesterday]’s Red Cross x Metallica Blood Drive absolutely rocked on so many levels! It was such a cool experience walking into this drive and hearing Metallica’s greatest hits playing on the speakers, and then getting to donate with so many other big Metallica fans. The energy was definitely electric, and it was so special donating with my dad (a dedicated O+ donor), who is celebrating being 35 years cancer-free. Today is truly a day I will always treasure. ❤️🎸”
Brian, we are so happy and appreciative that you and your dad could join us this week!
🤘 Next stop: the #M72Charlotte & #M72ATL drives on Friday. Remember, everyone who comes to donate blood will receive a limited-edition T-shirt, while supplies last.

May is #TraumaMonth & as a former trauma patient I'm grateful for the #RedCross blood donors who saved my life. What a journey it's been and I'm thankful to be able to help other patients with the 50 units of blood that I've donated over the years. ❤️@RedCross
@RedCross 1st blood donation was in 2009. It was at a #RedCross blood drive I hosted at the hospital that saved my life 5 years before. I'll never forget looking around the blood drive & seeing many of my Doctors & Nurses donating. Truly a full circle moment & a memory I'll never forget ❤️
Let us celebrate you this Red Cross Month. 🎉
It’s the people who make our mission possible. For 145 years, Red Crossers have stepped up for communities across the country when help can’t wait.
Tell us in the comments why you're a proud Red Crosser. Your commitment makes a difference every day, whether you:
- Give blood or encourage others to.
- Help people recover from disasters.
- Participate in a student-led Red Cross Club.
- Teach or learn lifesaving skills.
- Support our military and their families.
Thank you for everything you do. ❤️
Wishing everyone a happy 311 day! Hoping your day is filled with positivity, good vibes and if your schedule allows maybe a few great songs as well… preferably #311 of course 😎 @311#311Day
@RedCross Proud Red Crosser for 19 years. I received 36 blood transfusions after a near fatal car accident when I was 18 years old. The healing took 3 years and I have been proudly supporting the mission ever since.
Today I'm celebrating 19 years with the @RedCross. The first 10 years I served the mission as a dedicated volunteer & now 9 years as an employee. I reflected on the journey this morning during my #RedCross blood donation. Here’s to the next 19 years, and many more beyond that ❤️
With my @RedCross platelet donation from Monday night I reached my 50th unit in total donations. It was a special moment to achieve this, especially during Heart Month ❤️ #grateful#RedCross#HeartMonth@RedCrossNCGC
January is National Blood Donor month and it was special to not only donate blood this week, but to also achieve a New Year's resolution and make a positive impact in my community. ✅ @RedCross@Metallica#RedCross#AWMH#Metallica
We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and the first chapter begins today.
