There are only two groups who were consistent about covid. Those who said it was a deadly plague and followed everything and still do today.
And then those who understood it was a media driven panic not based in reality at all.
Only one was right.
We always hear that Luther wanted to reform the Church & was excommunicated. But what does history actually show? The Church heard him, dialogued with him, and tried to resolve the dispute for years before he publicly rejected the pope’s authority.

There was once a shepherd who found a wolf caught in a snare at the edge of his pasture.
The wolf begged to be freed.
“I was hungry,” it said. “That is all. Spare me, and I will remember your mercy!”
The shepherd cut the rope.
The next night, three lambs were gone.
Again the shepherd found the wolf. Again it pleaded. Again the shepherd convinced himself that mercy was proof of his goodness.
By winter, half the flock was dead.
An old farmer finally asked him, “Why do you keep freeing it?”
The shepherd answered, “Because I refuse to become cruel.”
The farmer looked at the empty field and said, “Then understand what you have done. You were not merciful to the wolf. You were cruel to everything that trusted you to keep them safe.”
That’s the lesson.
Mercy without judgment isn’t virtue. When someone openly intends to destroy what has been entrusted to you, endless forgiveness doesn’t make you righteous. It makes everyone behind you pay for your vanity.
Catholic Mariology is a balancing act.
No verse says Mary was conceived without sin. Rome made it dogma anyway in 1854.
No verse says she was taken bodily into heaven. Rome made it dogma anyway in 1950.
Matthew 1:25 says Joseph did not know her "until" she gave birth. Rome says ever-virgin.
Every piece rests on "development of doctrine." It stands fine as long as nobody touches the table.
Open your Bible. Touch the table.
When I speak at conferences, I get asked by a lot of people to take a picture with them. I usually lean in, and since they're the one asking for the picture, this theory doesn't seem to hold.
@AnnulmentProof I'm not into debating through X as I have character limits and only check my notifications in very limited dosages. I'll answer with this only: for the same reason that a spouse spending the money that the other earned is not theft.
If a story relies on vulgarity without any proportionate moral or spiritual good, Christians have good reason to avoid it. But that doesn't mean that horror is intrinsically sinful.

Gosh, I’d love to attend this debate. But I’m pretty sure I have a MAGA rally to attend that night…
If you have any doubt that the German Catholic academy has fallen into clownish irrelevance, look no further than this inane and ginned-up “controversy.”
Last summer, the vaunted “protest” consisted of 25 desultory septuaginarians holding signs and a statement from the theological faculty of the University of Munster, which was at an undergraduate level of sophistication and which betrayed not the slightest indication of any familiarity with my work.
And yes, that sound you hear in the background is Josef Pieper turning in his grave.
In the time of the Reformation it was a known practice of the Catholic priests to deny the people the cup during communion.
They would give them the bread but not allow them to drink of the cup. The logic was that these people might accidentally spill a drop and dishonor the blood of Christ. So, people routinely went forward for communion and were disallowed full participation and obedience to Christ, who instituted both bread and cup in remembrance of his sacrifice and in anticipation of his return.
In response to the Protestant complaint that this practice violates Jesus’ commands, the Catholic Church addressed it at the Council of Trent. This is an ecumenical council and is infallible (as far as they are concerned). The council decided that it would be official Catholic teaching that laity who eat only the bread and are refused the cup have done enough. They don’t need the cup.
A small but important moment demonstrating how false teaching gets enshrined and how Catholics are bound by their magisterium in ways that can keep them from obeying Jesus.
Countless Catholics will go to Mass this Sunday and be given only the bread, being denied the cup. Though they do make some exceptions for special feast days. Jesus and the apostles did one thing and the Roman Catholic authority does another.
@BridgeBrannon Is your argument "a word appears a lot in the Bible, therefore theological terminology is entirely flexible"? That's a strange inference.
With all the talk of exorcists spiritualizing everything... I've always found it extremely interesting that the Forth Lateran Council decrees that medical (including mental health) afflictions should be seen to by a priest before a physician to rule out spiritual malady first.
