*BRITISH WRITER PENS THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF TRUMP*
Someone asked "Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?" Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England wrote the following response:
A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed.
So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump's limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.
Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever.
I don't say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman.
But with Trump, it's a fact. He doesn't even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty. Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers.
And scarily, he doesn't just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness. There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It's all surface.
Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we don't. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He's not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He's more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.
And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead.
There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless or female – and he kicks them when they are down. So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think 'Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy' is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:
• Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and most are.
• You don't need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man.
This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss.
After all, it's impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump.
BREAKING: Governor Gavin Newsom arrives in Europe and ROASTS foreign leaders for "rolling over" for Trump because he's a "T-Rex" and they need to "stand tall, stand firm, stand united" against him.
It was time for some tough love and Newsom brought the heat...
"I can't take this complicity of people rolling over. I should have brought a bunch of knee pads for all the world leaders," Newsom said at the Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland. "I mean handing out crowns, the Nobel prizes that are being given away. It's just pathetic. And I hope people understand how pathetic they look on the world stage."
"The Europeans should decide for themselves what to do. But one thing they can't do is what they've been doing and they've been playing. This guy's playing folks for fools, and it's embarrassing," he continued.
"[Trump is] a T Rex.," said Newsom. "You mate with him or he devours you, one or the other, and you need to stand up to it... They need to stand tall, stand firm, stand united."
"Look, a year ago, we should have been having this conversation, and they didn't. And now you're paying the price exactly what any one objective observer would have anticipated," Newsom said. "And now you're paying the price, exactly what anyone, objective observer, would have anticipated. We'd be where we are today.
"I don't want to be hyperbolic about it, but this guy's a wrecking ball," he went on. "I hope people are waking up to what we're dealing with. This is code red. I mean, you guys are still playing by old set of rules, everybody, the globe is, with this guy. He's unmoored. It's the law of the jungle, it's the rule of Don, and I hope it's donning on the world what we're up against. I mean, this is serious."
"This guy is, he's not mad, he's very intentional, but he's unmoored, and he's unhinged, and it requires you. The goal is whatever he wants it to be. The goal is the world in his image," said Newsom. "He's a narcissist. I mean, it's just, it's no advice, it's common sense. Why don't folks do what they say publicly, what they're saying in private? Why don't they just simply do what they know is right? I mean, everybody's talking behind his back, they're laughing, and meanwhile, they're sucking up to him."
"It's embarrassing. I mean, this is, you're modeling behavior for our kids, generations of folks. This is not diplomacy, this is stupidity," Newsom added.
The governor is absolutely right. Trump only responds to strength. It's time for the rest of the world to start pushing back and exerting real economic pressure to stop his increasingly dangerous behavior.
Beyond that, it's great news that Newsom is attending Davos to represent California on the world stage and to provide competent, sane American leadership to counterbalance Trump's deranged fascism. His presence there will remind the rest of the world that the United States is not defined by Trump. We are capable of producing real leaders and one day we'll return to a state of sanity.
Would you vote for Newsom for president?

BREAKING: Trump signs shocking pardons for a repeat offender fraudster and others who conveniently donated MILLIONS to a MAGA PAC.
Donald Trump is once again proving that, in his America, justice isn’t blind—it’s for sale.
This week, Trump quietly unleashed a new wave of presidential clemency, freeing a lineup of fraudsters, political insiders, and wealthy criminals with one thing in common: connections to Trump’s orbit or his donor class. Among them was a convicted fraudster he had already set free once before—who promptly went back to committing fraud.
Meet Adriana Camberos. In 2021, Trump commuted her prison sentence for selling millions of dollars’ worth of counterfeit 5-Hour Energy shots. Normal presidents might call that mercy. Prosecutors called it a mistake. They were right. After her release, Camberos jumped right back into crime, committing a new fraud scheme with her brother. They were convicted again in 2024.
So what did Trump do? He pardoned them both. Again.
That’s right—Trump opened the prison gates twice for the same fraudster, despite clear evidence of repeat criminal behavior. Justice Department guidelines emphasize remorse and low risk of reoffending. Trump emphasized loyalty and lawyer connections.
And Camberos wasn’t alone.
Trump also pardoned a Venezuelan-Italian banker, a former Puerto Rico governor, and a former FBI agent—all of whom had pleaded guilty in a corruption case. Notably, the banker’s daughter donated $3.5 million to Trump’s super PAC while her father’s case was pending. The timing? Pure coincidence, we’re told. Just like every other Trump coincidence that involves a pile of cash.
Career prosecutors pushed for serious consequences. Trump allies negotiated sweetheart deals. Then came the pardons.
All of this unfolded while the Trump administration announced it was cutting federal aid to poor people in Minnesota in the name of “fighting fraud.” Apparently, fraud is unforgivable—unless it’s committed by rich people with checks to donate to MAGA PACS.
The White House insists these pardons were about “excessive prosecution” and “political targeting.” But the pattern is impossible to ignore: white-collar criminals, affluent offenders, and Trump-connected insiders walk free, while everyday Americans face the full weight of the law.
This isn’t mercy. It’s not justice. It’s a corrupt Trump rewards program for frequent criminals. Trump has turned the presidential pardon into a get-out-of-jail-free card for donors, friends, and repeat offenders, while pretending the rest of the country is plagued by crime.
Law and order for thee. Clemency for me—and my donors. Welcome to Trump’s corrupt recipe for justice — commit fraud, donate to MAGA, and get a pardon — repeat if necessary.
