This is fascinating and speaks strongly to what we should be focused on in our training and how we live.
It is the strength of parasympathetic function that decreases through the years.
For the sake of health, preserving that with large amounts of low-intensity movement 🚶, yoga/breathwork 🧘♀️, time in nature 🌲 & generally living a low-stress life should be our highest health priority.
@bluebottleffilc Cliff, if I understand your question correctly...15 minutes is too short a time period to assess aerobic decoupling. Don't know your HR or pace zones, but you can expect some time fo your HR to come up to its steady state for the given pace. Look at decoupling over an hour +
