@democracynow the Indigenous People’s Day celebration which is all weekend long and an annual tradition on @randallsisland has not once been attended by the @NYCMayor or @GovKathyHochul yet both attend the Columbus Day Parade. City actually charges Natives for use of the land too

@StreetsblogNYC That image of “winter” depicts my everyday hell as a daily bike commuter - cars parked illegally in what I call “the brown zones” or areas meant to stay clear to allow for viability of motorists seeing bikes. So sad that this goes unenforced.

Great to see @XR_NYC protesting at the @flybladenow helipad where 1,000s of joggers, bikers and pedestrians have to confront toxic fumes from the helicopters on a daily basis. It’s hard to even breath when you go by this area due to intensity of fumes entering lungs.

@NYCCouncil38 So sad that the pay is $65-$70! Average rent for a one bedroom apt in Sunset Park is $2,095. After tax take home pay of $70k is $3,800 per month. Monthly groceries and bills for one NYC person avg $1,000. This person would be left with a few hundred dollars a month to save/spend.

@StreetsblogNYC here’s what I don’t get, as someone who’s e-biked 12,000 in the last 3 years here in NYC. Why doesn’t the city just say - if it goes over 20mph, is motorized, and has no pedals, it requires license, insurance, and plates! Easy. And to sell - licensed dealer!

@Bobby4Brooklyn @StreetsblogNYC I bike by @flybladenow’s helipad on the West Side Bike path daily on my commute 2 and from work and more than the noise is the obtrusive smell of fumes from the choppers - it’s intense to the point of being hard to breathe and this is a path where people do cardio workouts!

@KathyParkPrice We need to make one of these for cars. From what I remember from drivers ed when I was 16 - you break the law when crossing a solid white line. Bike lanes for the most part are solid white lines, but motorist in NYC treat them as non existent extensions of ‘their’ road

@StreetsblogNYC I was on the BKB around 7:30 that morning and it was even worse than pictured here. Vehicle lane clear. West side bike path - even worse than bridge - full snow - no action was taken to clear for the am biking commute, all roads were fine for vehicles tho.

@cchayward82 @FDNY @NYCMayor @placardabuse I bike a big stretch of 4th Ave Brooklyn everyday commuting to work on the UWS. These brown painted no-park zones are the bain of my existence. I generally count 30+ vehicles parked in them just on one side. Each 1 is a potential death to a cyclist waiting to happen on a R turn
