I spent 2 hours with customer service only to find out that the same trip is 3x the miles. How do you get priced out of a trip that was already paid for? I was able to get my miles back but lost the trip I paid for.

I used my reward miles & paid taxes for a rt flight to NYC from JPN. Only to have the airline cancel my trip twice. This was just as the pandemic began. Fast forward to now. I never got an update on my miles or my trip.
I called customer service to find out what happened to my trip. Why call them now? I work in Japan & was trapped here for 3 years because of strict border controls which were just lifted a week ago. Now I am able to travel freely without the possibility of losing my job.
