There is really almost no source of energy I am not enthusiastic for, it is that important. Solar? Let's pave the deserts. Nuclear? Hell yes let's get you some pressure vessels. Coal? Pass me the shovel big dawg. Oil? Peat? Gas? Wind? Trash? Use it or lose it my man
@nickgalano@isaiah_p_taylor For sure, I think you can just clone it though. A chinese company will do this eventually and it will work well and be very vuable. Why not cut to the chase?
@vizience@isaiah_p_taylor Correct, and I would not suggest giving the money to NASA. But either the human space age does not outlast Elon's lifetime, or there exists at least one other individual capable of managing a large reusable rocket program. I know which I think is more likely
@mihirneal Yes it is difficult and the payoff if successful is staggering. Is that not worth venturing some venture capital? Or is the idea that there will only ever be exactly one entity capable of economical spacedlight?
@isaiah_p_taylor The money is necessary but not sufficient. They have access to the talent and it would be much higher ROI than a lot of their software / crypto stuff
