We unreservedly condemn the brutal and vicious attack on Prof Lovemore Madhuku . The paranoid schizophrenic attack reflects the regime s fear of alternative voice and opinion. We have never been cowards . We have never yielded on matters of principle . We will DEFEND this constitution with the iortas of our last breadth . Autocrats are dispensable and have a miserable short and brutal shelf life .
SAD NEWS💔: National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) leader Professor Lovemore Madhuku, badly beaten by members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police at his offices in along Herbert Chitepo Avenue this morning.
Madhuku and several party members are currently receiving the at a local clinic in Harare.
NCA spokesperson Madock Chivasa confirmed the incident.
“We were holding a meeting this morning when police rounded up and attacked our members, including our leader Professor Madhuku. He has been injured,” Chivasa told Newsday.
I am so disappointed. Thomas Partey was the engine, the glue that was holding together Arsenal.
What a miscalculated move.
You will regret this I'm telling you 😔😭.
The problem with these Ministerial appointments is not that the appointees are old or young. It’s that they are Zanu PF. You can be a stellar Olympian or a Cambridge mathematician, the rotten, corrupt, achieve-nothing culture will become a part of you. Culture eats strategy for lunch.
From fake degrees to corrosive incompetence to failing to have a 25c painkiller in a hospital to crowning Mr Potholes as the best - the system is broken. Empty sloganeering and saying yes to nonsense is the only thing they’re vaguely good at. The thing cannot be fixed. It must just be removed.
There’s something insidious about that party. The model is wrong and can never take us into the future. 45 years later, nyika yese yamamvemve. A riches to rags story if there ever was one.

EMERGENCY ALERT
My reliable informant within the system has sent me an emergency alert!
Please RETWEET it!
All pro-democracy activists in Zimbabwe, be careful!
The beast is on the prowl and will be deploying crack squads in a few hours to go after pro-democracy activists!
The teams will comprise a swat team and CID Law and Order sections.
They are expected to be deployed anytime from 7PM tonight!
Dear South Africans,
We hear you when you make legitimate noise about illegal immigration.
Our health system has collapsed to the point where 70% of women giving birth at your Musina Hospital are Zimbabwean.
This is because 2,500 Zimbabwean women die every year giving birth in Zimbabwe, so they come there because they are terrified of dying during childbirth.
But this is not the subject of this tweet. Look at this super luxury bus, it was bought by the Zimbabwean government for its ministers during the infamous SADC meeting in Zimbabwe.
This bus could build more than 60 maternity theatres in Zimbabwe, but our government chose vanity over saving lives!
I am extremely upset as I type this post, very upset, bordering on crying.
But this is the government we have in Zimbabwe, useless and shameless, they don’t care about the people!
Imagine a father who buys a Land Cruiser when his kids are not going to school. Imagine a father who buys the whole bar alcohol when his own family is starving and going to bed on empty stomachs!
You don’t have to imagine anymore, that is the Zimbabwean government for you!
It is heartbreaking and infuriating.
It is a travesty that a government would prioritise extravagant luxuries over the basic healthcare needs of its citizens.
Zimbabweans deserve better.
They deserve a government that values and protects their lives, that invests in their well-being rather than in vanity projects.
You our neighbors deserve decent neighbouring countries that invest in the well-being of their people so that they don’t burden your social services!
That is why we hope that your new government will stop the tradition of supporting tyranny next door!
🟣After knowing that this is how an election is done, how do they come and observe a Zim election then attend the inauguration with a smile saying zvese bho? Musazodaro asi.

🟣First of all, from a legal perspective, public spending is covered by the Budget Statement, which is not the preserve of any parliamentary committee. It is canvassed by the Minister of Finance, not the Public Accounts Committee as you erroneously suggest - read section 305 of the Constitution.
As a matter of law, the Budget Statement is a public record. In your mind, should public expenditure be done under the cover of darkness? You should know this already but section 298 of the Constitution requires there to be transparency and accountability in all matters of public finance. In any event, any member of the public has the right to access such information under section 62 of the Constitution.
But let me humour you. I was there when each line item of the Budget was debated by each and every portfolio committee. There was no mention of, let alone a presentation on this frivolous project which is a slap in the face to Zimbabweans who face an acute hunger crisis. I challenge you to show which line item of the budget covers and in what sum?
How do you justify a Govt that has put out a US$2 billion begging bowl for food aid building luxury villas for SADC leaders in an unprecedented 2 month period? Are you aware that this amount was before the latest data on food insecurity showing the crisis to be even worse than previously thought was released?
Does this sound rational to you?
You are unable to say where the money is coming from because - if the Budget Statement is anything to go by, it is being drawn from money that was meant to fund public services. The same Govt that cannot secure running water or Wi-Fi in state universities, that cannot fix the national stadium, that cannot solve the loadshedding crisis and that cannot ensure medication is in hospitals suddenly has money to build luxury villas within two months?
Zimbabwe is not poor. It is poorly managed.

I had chosen to ignore this issue because of the grand ignorance on display, it was painful to watch.
Many people displayed their ignorance and struggles with comprehension.
Rutendo appears on South African television countless times defending the corrupt rule and misgovernance in Zimbabwe, and lying to South Africans that everything is alright in Zimbabwe.
Naturally, the television interviewer asked him why he doesn’t live in the land of milk and honey that he depicted in his characterisation of Zimbabwe in this particular television interview.
That was the logical reasoning and line of questioning that any trained journalist would have taken.
It is called a “FOLLOW UP QUESTION.”
It is sad that many here on social media chose an emotional response instead of critical thinking.
Secondly, many of these emotional individuals falsely claimed that the interviewer’s heritage is European; it is not.
It is Lebanese, which is in the Middle East.
It is foolish to restrict journalists from asking legitimate questions because on their heritage, especially when they were born and bred in South Africa.
Don’t nitpick a sentence and take it out of context for propaganda purposes, that is what politicians do not sensible people who want to have a genuine conversation and not confuse people for votes.
Is it not natural for any sensible person to ask you why you don’t stay in Zimbabwe if it is such a great place that you paint to be a land of milk and honey.
There is nothing xenophobic or racist about such a question!
The background to this question is also based on the fact that he was lying at the time the interview was held in September 2019.
Elections had just been rigged, the majority of Zimbabweans were and still are living in abject poverty, 95% of Zimbabweans were and still are unemployed, hospitals were and still are collapsed, there was and still is no clean running water in urban homes, corruption was and still is rife.
The list is long and exhaustive.
So, should a journalist just sit there being lied to in a national television interview and not follow up with a question to expose those lies?
