Woke up and dropped almost $10k before breakfast like I was buying a pack of gum.
Property 1: AC repaired ✅
Property 2: AC replaced ✅
Property 3: Plumbing fixed ✅
Property 4: Paint purchased ✅
Being a landlord isn’t cheap, easy, or passive.
But hey, I’m getting 5% back on gas with Discover, so financially I’m basically thriving.
It’s been 4 years and 8 months since I left my movie theater job.
A few things I’ve learned:
• Freedom still requires discipline
• Cash flow matters more than looking successful
• “Passive income” is usually somebody lying to you
• The goal isn’t to never work again — it’s to have more control over what you work on
