NOTICE TO BOATERS: Please share!

Here are 5 ways you can help when firefighting aircraft are operating on a water source:

✅ Move toward shore — this helps keep scooping lanes clear

✅ Do not cross open water — you may put yourself in the path of an approaching aircraft

✅ Slow down and minimize your wake — large wakes can make scooping runs difficult and unsafe

✅ Do not approach or follow aircraft — crews need plenty of clearance, and additional aircraft may be following behind

✅ Give aircraft plenty of open water — scooping locations can change from pass to pass depending on conditions

Our pilots will always prioritize safety, and boat traffic can force them to break off a scooping run.

That means:
❌ Lost time
❌ Less water reaching the fire
❌ Reduced support for firefighters on the ground

Please give aircraft space; it keeps everyone safe and allows us to provide consistent air cover for the firefighters.

It’s been a hard few days for the wildland firefighting community.

We come from different crews, agencies, and organizations, but we fight for the same reasons and carry the same mission: protecting our communities.

Today, we honor the crew of N793HT, lost in a helicopter crash while supporting the Widemouth 2 Fire in Utah, and Jason Ensign, who lost his life in a burnover while fighting the Wrights Spring Fire in Oregon.

Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends, and crews.
Rest easy.

The name behind the plane: Vigo.

First flown in 1985, Scooper 281 began its career as a CL-215, serving in Ontario, alongside “Lewis” Scooper 282, before operating across the U.S. It was later converted into a CL-415EAF with upgraded turbine engines and modern flight controls, joining Bridger Aerospace in 2020.

Today, the aircraft is known as "Vigo," named after the son of one of Bridger Aerospace's early investors. Its name reflects the people who believed in Bridger's mission from the beginning, helping build the foundation for the fleet that serves communities today.

A new milestone for Bridger Aerospace.

We're honored to partner with Texas A&M Forest Service to help build Texas' dedicated wildfire aviation fleet through the acquisition, modification, and delivery of three King Air 360 multi-mission aircraft.

Following years of increasingly severe wildfire activity, including the Smokehouse Creek Fire, the largest in Texas history, the state is investing in dedicated aerial capability to strengthen its wildfire preparedness.

Equipped with advanced sensors, these aircraft will provide near-real-time video, mapping, heat detection, and other situational awareness tools that give incident commanders and firefighters a more complete picture of conditions on the fireline.

This marks Bridger's first contract to modify aircraft for a state wildfire aviation program, expanding our role into helping states build long-term aerial firefighting capability.
