1/12 Very pleased to finally share the @PGC Schizophrenia Group paper: Mapping genomic loci implicates genes and synaptic biology in schizophrenia https://t.co/IEcUWZVQiF (my first proper thread!!)
At long last, I am pleased to say that the SCHEMA consortium’s paper has been published online in @Nature (https://t.co/QkN46s4Vwz): analysis of >120K individuals shows that rare coding variants in 10 genes confer substantial risk for schizophrenia. (1/6)
What is the role of genetics in schizophrenia? Thanks to an international collaboration and the largest-ever genetic study on the disorder, researchers from #CharitéBerlin have brought us one step closer to an answer. @nature@bridges_berlin https://t.co/trnSrqbnZV
@StephanRipke

Increasing Sample Diversity in Psychiatric Genetics - Introducing a new Cohort of Patients with Schizophrenia and Controls from Vietnam - Results from a Pilot Study https://t.co/11NMWhmuEN #medRxiv
Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) in schizophrenia have identified >300 independent genome-wide significant variants (p ⩽ 5 × 10−8) associated with the disorder.

We really love our new flyer design and look forward to recommence our data collection in the near future!
Wir lieben unser neues Flyer Design und freuen uns schon darauf unsere Datenerhebung bald fortzusetzen! #schizophrenia#research
🔬A polygenic resilience score moderates the genetic risk for #Schizophrenia | New study by Hess et al (@PGCgenetics) compares high-risk controls, i.e., "resilient" controls to patients with similarly high polygenic risk scores. @MolPsychiatry: https://t.co/UWIW3BUNc5
Just out: @PGCgenetics Genome-wide association study identifies 30 loci associated with bipolar disorder: Bipolar I strongly correlated with schizophrenia, Bipolar II with major depression. https://t.co/VPpnSHKqH2
Using #ALSPAC data she shows that both early and late adolescent onset #depression are associated with #depression PRS but the early onset group also associated with #schizophrenia and #adhd PRS. Really interesting paper. Also @anita_thapar1
