Truro Diocese Budget 2026: Synod members counsel caution, calling for firm evidence that the current approach works, before the financial situation of the Diocese is weakened further. "A midcourse correction to our budget would be a very wise thing to do."

2026 Budget analysis:
The Diocese of Truro is over-reliant on property sales while diverting funds raised from parish share (Mission & Ministry Fund) away from their prime purpose of funding parish clergy into diocesan costs and projects.

Please respond to the consultation on the radical parish reorganisation planned for Kerrier Deanery before 15 Sept. The unfeasible plan would mean a giant benefice of 23 churches with just 2 clergy.

Making final plans for a display at @Cornwall_Museum of work by overseas nurses @RCHTWeCare who participated in our photography workshops. https://t.co/8PglONwmo5
Somewhat to my surprise, General Synod has just voted to return the funding of parishes to the top of the Church of England’s spending priorities. In a difficult synod this is really good news, and will have a real impact on the ground.
Back in action today with a pop up exhibition in Penzance at @Truro_Penwith of photos by international nurses from @RCHTWeCare. Today @MichaelApas08 is talking to students and films taken by the Hospital's Comms Dept are on show ....#equalityanddiversity event for students
Excellent day @Truro_Penwith with international nurses from @RCHTWeCare talking about the photos they’ve taken in Cornwall and their lives here #EqualityAndDiversity event for students
@pmounstephen @DioTruro @TruroDioSchools What a shame you have not encouraged C of E schools in Kerrier generally to engage more with local churches! @trurodioceseschools and your education team are just not making connections with wider community groups alas
We were in @estaires59 3 years ago to honour Cornish war dead with @brunoficheux and team. The town again this year remembers the fallen - the British memorial at minute 12 https://t.co/Npa75ybGeV via @FacebookWatch#ThankYou

Our first 'in person' assembly for two years. A great pleasure to be back at St John's Catholic Primary School, Camborne. The children are enthusiastic, keen to listen and ask SO many questions!

People like Rev Neil Potter at Camborne Church are really at the front line in work with the homeless. Very impressive. Emergency accommodation is being constructed right now in Rosewarne Car Park to prepare for the winter https://t.co/Pn0UQE8U8O
A trip to Camborne Post Office today to send a package of materials about migration up to a church in Herefordshire - great to think they will be used beyond the Tamar #IPACKEDTHISMYSELF#AnyoneMightHaveToLeaveHomeToFindWork
