Well no. And Coogler addressed this when the movie came out. Xenophobia is coloring yalls interpretation and leading to these racially shallow and simplistic takes. The juke was never a Black safe space, the KKK sold it to them and was coming for them in the morning regardless
literacy crisis symptom that’s pissing me off today is that people are starting to use nouns as verbs. i just saw this girl say “this toothbrush literally magnets to your mirror” and I had to go to her page and block her
Angel Reese deserves her flowers.

There is a version of poverty most people never talk about.Full grown adults who never learned to swim, cycle, skate, or play an instrument. People who never took a gap year, never traveled, never spoke a second language. It is not a lack of interest. It is a lifetime of hustling
@_Nullifidian_ I’m not saying they can only handle or accept YA characters. Im saying eliminating the genre completely is a stupid idea. I agree that there are teens who can handle adult literature but it’s not the majority. It’s a minority.
A lot of the problem with YA is that it's just not really necessary. 16-year-olds can read almost all fiction--they certainly won't understand everything, but they don't have to. We don't need teenager-specific literature.
Trading for Angel to help you win a championship just to bench her in key moments and go away from her offensively in Game 7 of the Finals is actually hilarious. I’m really trying to wrap my head around that
@_Nullifidian_ Because the average kid in this day and age does not like to read 😭 that’s the unfortunate truth. In the mid 20th century there was no short form content or ai. Having books that are accessible, and relatable for teens is how you foster lifelong readers and encourage them
