This is a simple easy way for those on the go who have little time to cook meals each day. This helps to ensure all their meals are balanced and don’t rely on quick snacking. Meal prep = 👍🏼 @beh353#beh353
@DaniellaCondon2 @beh353 I agree supplements should not be used as a cure all. All nutrients should be easily obtained through daily meals. As long as they are balanced, that is. Also it is important to be mindful that dieting can be a challenge for patients. @beh353#beh353
I will carry all the knowledge I learned this semester into my profession as a PA. Most importantly, we must be cautious when bringing up weight & be mindful that it is a challenge. I will be supportive & start slow w/ suggesting healthier foods & balanced meals. @beh353#beh353
@SamanthaHinken@EmmaDArpinoRD@beh353 I also thought this was interesting! I often times stay away from frozen because I like the taste of the fresh better. Now I can try frozen and it be even more nutritious! 😋@beh353#beh353
It is important to educate children about breakfast. My mom always use to say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I use to not have time for it with a busy student life. I have now worked it back in & have seen better results w/ cognition/exams. 👍🏼 @beh353#beh353
Studies show that kids are more focused on learning when they eat breakfast. Teach kids about the benefits of breakfast with these games, lessons, event ideas and more! https://t.co/NdNMbSx4cy
I learned that we don’t need to “junk food shame”. Emma said that you can have both an apple and Doritos. However, maybe minimize the amount of Doritos that you eat. Keeping “junk” food is a way of pleasuring yourself while still eating healthy. 😋@EmmaDArpinoRD@beh353#beh353
This article talks about how certain foods can boost artery function. Some can even boost the out comes in as little as 2 hours up to 6 hours. Now that’s fast! Try some of these out! 🫐🍇🍵 @beh353#beh353
What are the effects of açai berries, cooked and raw blueberries, grapes, cocoa, green tea, and freshly squeezed orange juice on artery function? https://t.co/6oqnqkeD3L
@OliviaClaf@beh353 This is awesome. Also on the same webpage you can play games. It could be a fun an interactive way to teach your child about a balanced diet. Thanks for sharing! @beh353#beh353
This is a good source to give pregnant women struggling to choose good quality foods for their 👶🏻. It is a simple article. Written by a credible source. Which is reviewed every 3 years 👍🏼 @beh353#beh353 https://t.co/OloJvNWrvJ
@SamanthaHinken@beh353 Interesting! I’ve always seen people resort to emergen-C and zinc to boost immunity. However, I stick to plain old orange juice and increase fluid intake! 🍊💧@beh353#beh353
This is a great move forward for healthy eating for those who may not be able to afford it. It’s important to keep researching & creating ways to have affordable and nutritious options for those who need it. @beh353#beh353
In our latest study release, we evaluated projects that were intended to increase fruit and vegetable purchases among SNAP participants. Learn more: https://t.co/yMQ2JkTXV8
I learned that diets 🚫 necessarily work. Cutting down meals/portions lead to being hungry 24/7 and more likely to have rebound weight gain once the diet is over. It also effects their energy day to day overall. Suggest better options rather than cutting portions. @beh353#beh353
Interesting read. At the hospital I worked at some patients would be placed on cardiac or diabetic diets which would be carefully looked at. But those without a specific diet got to choose what they want. Never saw a calorie count on the menu either. @beh353#beh353
Hospital meals offered to patients may actually contribute to the exacerbation of the very conditions that may have led them to be hospitalized in the first place.

@RhineShon@beh353 Important fact! I too have noticed that veggies do get left out for more unhealthy snacks. I typically prefer to eat fruits & veggies over a bag of chips. I feel better after eating fruits/veggies. Plus different colors provide the body different nutrients! 😋 @beh353#beh353
I learned that obesity causes a slew of medical problems such as ❤️disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes. In James Corden’s video if you tell someone to lose weight b/c their fat it makes it harder. But if it’s to save their life, they may be more inclined. 🤔 @beh353#beh353
This goes along with this weeks topic of barriers. Specifically, “relative cheapness of unhealthy foods”. Given that Burger King is relatively cheap, I wonder if the vegetarian store keeps options relatively healthy or just portrays their food in that manner. @beh353#beh353
@EagenKelly @beh353 I can relate as well. Typically I choose something that just tastes good. I don’t typically look at the calorie count. However, Starbucks does offer sugar free options and nonfat milk. Maybe we could try those? 🤷🏻♀️ @beh353#beh353
I relate to the barrier of “relative cheapness of unhealthy foods”. I included photos of an unhealthy and a healthy option. Look at the amount of food you get, the calories, & the $. It’s difficult to choose healthy options on a college student budget. @beh353#beh353
