こんにちは! I am Jennifer from Japan, but I grew up with my American dad and my Japanese mom, so I speak English as well. I am based in Delaware, not NY, right now. If you are interested in learning from me, lessons will be online.
When I do lessons, I use a textbook called みんなの日本語. (Minna no Nihongo)
I give students tasks to learn new words before the lesson, and we use them during our lesson to practice grammar. I have slides for each chapter that we use during lessons, plus something you can review after the lesson. I can also provide video recordings of the lessons if you'd prefer. We'll record them based on your preference.
I also have practice for each situation, such as ordering something, speaking at the station, and asking for directions.
Learning 80–90% of the first book of Minna no Nihongo will get you off to a very good start with fluency. There are 25 chapters in the book, and it usually takes about an hour to finish one chapter in class. To fully master each chapter, at least 4–5 hours of study outside of class will be required. This is why I recommend recording the lessons — so you can review them any time of day.
I also use a website that contains videos of real-life scenarios that follow the textbook to ensure your learning. This is especially good for visual learners.
For more details, I can give you a trial lesson and explain more.
Thank you for reading this far, and I will be happy to help with your learning!

When you study Japanese, it's important to know from the beginning. But there is always something people forget to learn and it makes it even harder. Even a lot of teachers forget to teach this too. That's what I teach in my lessons. I have my website in my description. You'll get an answer when you join my lessons.
