@Larkinite1913 Of course it is correct to say that military effectiveness per se is no proof of socialism. That was not my point. So let me clarify that here.
Very weird that Rojava is never mentioned as “actually existing socialism”. But typical for avowedly non-statist projects to be written out of history.
@Larkinite1913 I mentioned their defeat of ISIS to highlight the error in lumping Rojava into an amorphous “horizontalist” category, as if they couldn’t organise themselves out of a paper bag. Clearly they can, whether in military terms or political economic.
🗡 URGENT CALL TO ADVENTURE!
Our totally crowdfunded film series Another World is Possible is being summoned to its 7TH CONTINENT to keep storytelling the regen revolution at transformative gatherings in Asia.

@Larkinite1913 This is called moving the goalposts. First the point was that Rojava is an example of “horizontalism” and not “serious”. That’s what I responded to. Now the point is that the USSR defeated the Nazis.
@Larkinite1913 It sounds like you’re lumping Rojava in with Occupy Wall Street. Are you? Because surely a system of federated communes with complex administration can’t be compared.
Also they successfully defeated ISIS. In what world is that “not serious”?
Furthermore, many leftists will jump up and down about the anti-imperialist character of China, but have no interest defending in Rojava, even when undergoing genocide from NATO’s Turkey. Very disappointing.
How can companies plan in a socialist way - with labor time instead of money? Economist G. Sandleben examines this question in the new IDA brochure and shows how an economy based on labor time could promote transparency, efficiency and social justice. https://t.co/tF9XnVnKyW
