I spent a long time thinking about what to write here.
I could post a smiling photo, say that we’re “off to chase what’s next,” and pretend that everything is perfect. But it isn’t. And I want to be completely honest with you.
A huge change is ahead of us: moving to Chicago. And although I should probably be writing about excitement, today I want to tell you one thing: I’m honestly terrified.
The past few weeks have been a rollercoaster of extreme emotions for me. Barcelona became my home. My safe place, a city I loved with all my heart. The thought of packing again, leaving behind what I built, and starting over in a way simply scares me.
As a mother, I feel an enormous amount of stress. I worry about the girls and their emotions, about a new school, and about how they will find themselves in a completely new world. Anyone who has gone through such a big move with children knows how heavy that mental burden can be for a parent.
Life beside an athlete is not only about the bright moments. It also comes with difficult family compromises. Robert’s career path is now bringing us a new challenge. I stand firmly by his side and support him with all my strength, because we are a team. But as a woman, I have the right to feel fear. I have the right to feel overwhelmed, and today I’m not going to pretend otherwise.
I’m writing this because I know many of you are also facing changes in life that bring fear. I want you to know that it’s normal. That we don’t always have to be strong and “happy.”
I will continue working on the growth of my businesses, I will keep returning to Edan Studios, and I will keep developing the project. See you at a training session, at a camp, or in my beloved Barcelona.
A Ghanaian lady living in America 🇺🇸 surprised her dad with his first-ever World Cup experience after he beat cancer ❤️😭… Moments like this are priceless!
After Messi scored a hat-trick and walked off to a standing ovation, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni sat on the bench with tears in his eyes. He tried to stay strong, but the emotion was too heavy. Then Messi came over, hugged him, and Scaloni completely broke down. 🇦🇷🥺
He later explained why he was crying:
"I cried because it's Messi's last World Cup, it's coming to an end, and every time I think about it, I start to cry. It's a privilege to watch this guy play."
For almost two decades, Messi has made millions of people fall in love with football.
Now even his own coach cannot hold back the tears because he knows we are watching the final pages of a story we may never see again.
Enjoy Messi while he is still here. One day, we will tell our children we watched magic live. 🐐💔⚽️
