Came back to Twitter just to say that this weekend, I once again bought a car and parted ways with the old one with a @darlingside album stuck inside it. This time it was Extralife. New car doesn't have a CD player so... I guess there's hope I'll break this habit.
Perhaps it's only fitting that I am forced to part with the car while the stereo grips onto, and will not release, one of my most listened-to albums of the last decade: there is no road quality, journey length or weather condition which Birds Say by @darlingside cannot improve.
@JamesACMumford This will be stellar. In 2018 she gave public lectures in Cambridge on the 'deep distinctiveness and profound coherency' of Genesis and Exodus. I hope this line she spoke made it into the book - 'everything turns on the births of babies, who else would have thought of this?!'
Still thinking about Aftersun. Today, *THE* shot. And Iβm thinking about it because it distils in a single frame some heavy things Iβve grown up with and experienced since becoming a father that it overwhelms me to see on screen. I feel like this oneβs going to need a thread π§΅:
@dethink2survive@aftersunmovie @theQuietus I can't stop thinking about this film and this piece really helps me to process it. Thank you! What a marvel of a little film.
'Each song adds to a sort of photobook you leaf through, a time machine that drops you in a place you can nearly touch.'
One final share of my piece on the music of Aftersun, memories and how songs help you reconnect with the past.

Another incredible ep of @sacred_podcast. @ESOldfield and @cloverstroud set the bar for kind/honest/courageous conversation.
Reminded me of a line from a Michael Symmons Roberts poem, 'where all our songs and lamentations coalesce'
