It’s Friday! Although I’ve worn blue shoes on Fri for ages, tomorrow will be one year since my first #BlueShoeFriday post (though I didn’t use the hashtag back then). So I’m posting this wee anniversary celebration, but on a Friday to as not to confuse. Happy Friday. 😀

Amgad Salih, a 19 year old student from Peckham who is studying at the University of Oxford, shared this picture that his friend organised. They recreated the typical Oxford Bullingdon picture but with black students, to show black representation and inspire more Peckham people.

Competencies were inspired by Global Health Competencies for UK Health Professionals (2). During development, we consulted widely with colleagues working/studying in communication disability field in LMIC, SLTs from UK who worked abroad & CTI members.
It is important to use this framework in conjunction with the document 'Working in Less Resourced Settings: Guidance for Allied Health Professionals (1)' developed jointly by @comm_ntherapy, @OTFrontiers & @ADAPT_CSP. Follow the link to our website for info& links to guidance
The #CTI committee have put together the Competency Self Assessment Framework to help #SpeechandLanguageTherapists who are already working in, & those thinking of going to #LMICs.
The Competency Framework from @comm_ntherapy is finally here!! 🎉
The framework is a guide to the skills & knowledge you need to maximise your effectiveness, confidence & self-awareness when working in lower &middle income countries as a SLT from the UK/ higher income countries.
R is our school's top English student. She got 9 at GCSE. She got A at AS. She is studious, precise, deeply thoughtful. She has just had her A Level grade reduced from A* to C, apparently just because she goes to a disadvantaged school. It might help if you liked her poem.
