Erdogan: Arrest Netanyahu for genocide.
Interpol: Who was genocided?
Erdogan: The Gaza flotilla.
Interpol: How many people were killed?
Erdogan: None.
Interpol: Has any court actually found that a genocide occurred?
Erdogan: No.
Interpol: Aren’t you the president of the successor state to the Ottoman Empire, which carried out the Armenian genocide?
Erdogan:
Interpol: And doesn't your government still refuse to even recognize that genocide happened?
Erdogan:
Interpol: Aren’t you the guy whose government jailed your leading political rival?
Erdogan:
Interpol: Aren’t you the guy whose government arrests journalists and bans opposition protests?
Erdogan:
Interpol: Aren’t you the guy whose military has occupied northern Cyprus for more than 50 years?
Erdogan:
Interpol: Aren’t you the guy who hosts Hamas leaders in Turkey?
Erdogan:
Interpol: And you want us to arrest Netanyahu?
Erdogan:
Grotesque.
Why is this demagogue making Gaza a central issue in his campaign to become Mayor of Ottawa?
One reason: because he's consciously pandering to voters who hate jews.
If he really thinks Canadian municipal politics is the right forum for his foreign policy concerns, why is he silent about:
- the ongoing genocide of the Uyghur Muslims by the Chinese Communist regime (recognized as such be the House of Commons;)
- the mass killings of tens of thousands of black Darfuris and other innocent civilians by brutal Arab militias in Sudan, including the forced displacement of 11 million people, in what the UN has said "bears the hallmarks of a genocide."
- Vladimir Putin's murderous war against Ukraine, which is estimated to have killed 17,000 civilians;
- the decades long violent oppression of the Iranian people by a brutal Islamist theocracy that this year alone is believed to have murdered at least 37,000 of its own people for demanding democratic reforms;
- the Yemeni Civil War, which has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of civilians with millions more displaced in a conflict funded by Saudi Arabia and the UAE;
- the violent oppression of women, girls, and ethnic minorities by the fundamentalist Taliban regime in Afghanistan; etc..
So why his silence on these and other humanitarian crises and conflicts, but the obsessive focus on Israel?
Because only one allows for the demonization of a Jewish state.
The only Jewish state.
A state facing constant existential threats, including from the Hamas death cult in Gaza.
This flagrant double standard is textbook antisemitism.
History's oldest hatred is being used as a cynical wedge by parties and politicians of the left.
These countries attacked the Jewish state the moment it was founded in 1948:
🇪🇬 Egypt
🇯🇴 Jordan
🇸🇾 Syria
🇮🇶 Iraq
🇱🇧 Lebanon
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia
🇾🇪 Yemen
At the time, Israel's Jewish population was a combination of Jews who lived there because their families never left, and refugees from pogroms and the Nazi Holocaust.
Why is this context always left out by Free Palestine activists when they talk about 1948?
This is outstanding. Well done, @globeandmail. You're almost redeemed from that shite you printed the other day. Almost. "Globe editorial: The betrayal of Jewish students needs to end" https://t.co/Jd32b2GxQs
Beautifully argued, Emily Hamilton. If Putin burns books, it is no accident. It is not collateral damage. It is part of his plan to annihilate the Ukrainian language, culture, and nation.
"So let us confront the sad and harrowing truth" that it is wildly untrue to say antisemitism has no place in Canada. Antisemitism has a privileged and comfortable place here. Stop saying "this is not who we are." It is exactly who we have become.
How can @CdnPressNews write an article about Jews and antisemitism and not once say the words Jews or antisemitism in the article? Sadly, Canadian Press has been decidedly anti-Israel since October 7 and has contributed to the explosion of antisemitism. https://t.co/BGC2P2i5IL
The repellent sight of Jewish terrorists attacking Palestinian families - as i have been saying over the last 5 yrs - is not only a crime but a degradation of the Israeli state itself.

This op-Ed is horseshit. IJV should be consulted? Seriously? They've got no membership base, they've been condemned by multiple mainstream Jewish organizations, and - as Bernie Farber says - they are vile. https://t.co/KG0EMcIpw4
The way that Israel was created was so wrong
-The British decide they don’t want to control the land anymore
-They partition the land into 2 countries split on religious lines.
-These new borders completely geographic boundaries, ethnic divisions, history, and the basic reality on the ground
-One of the countries is founded on religious supremacy
-The Muslim country is split into two disconnected parts.
-Millions of people are displaced as a result
-Both countries are now mortal enemies and have fought wars against each other
Oh wait, that’s India and Pakistan. But no one ever complains about how Pakistan was created and calls it illegitimate.
Describing Israel as a "land mass currently called Israel," as New York Magazine just did, is the same as calling it the 'Zionist entity'
It's a means of dehumanizing an entire population
Can a subject become so controversial that universities simply stop teaching it? @rjhaier argues that's exactly what has happened with human intelligence research — no major US psychology department now offers a dedicated course on it — and that Cambridge's recent DEI scandal is a symptom of decades of avoidance.

The antisemitism report that erases a century of Jewish debate absolutely terrible that the Globe would publish this. Change out Jew for any other group…never would an article like this be published. Double standards… https://t.co/0geYqFOsCu
This leaves such a nasty, sickly taste. It is very strange how a celebration of the wondrous delicious eclectic scene of Arab, Iranian, Palestinian, Middle Eastern food and culture - something delightful and positive about New York life and indeed about the MIddle East itself - can be turned into a screed of hate bigotry ignorance and - tellingly - power superiority over other cultures. It is interesting too how what presents as the activism of cultural kindness is actually rather poisonous. This magazine is already notorious for this and one wonders if that is what attracted its new owner James Murdoch to this once fun groundbreaking mag @NYMag or whether he will urgently wish to change its darkening tone....
