lots of people trying to rewrite history to say glee was perfect. i was there!! the fall from grace started in s2 and by s3 (not even s4) the ratings were collapsing. by s4 it was a national joke
Think it's kinda silly to think otherwise. Of course Rory had an advantage. She left public school because her grandparents paid for Chilton. They then also paid for her to go to Yale which opened up many more doors for her. Yes Rory worked hard, but obviously had an advantage.
got dumped on tv right before her wedding and had the women coddling Carl at the reunion, and she still showed back up and paid them all dust season after season 😍
against all odds, I was fully unprepared for just how off-putting and uncomfortable this would be to watch. something about seeing such a classically-crafted, iconic film series translated into the aesthetics of a modern HBO prestige streamer show just feels uncanny valley wrong.
