So I wanted to talk a bit about this whole Biden thing, because I had a -lovely- little chat this morning with two very well-informed fellows whose first instinct was to tweet a literal Russia Today video at me as proof of their claims.
Passed by a TV last night broadcasting the impeachment debate. The very indignant @GOP rep was claiming that actually Democrats are the ones attacking our democracy by impeaching a "duly elected President". If that's the case, were Republicans attacking democracy in 1998?
@JaydotSloane@segfaultvicta The game store I go to once a week for D&D night has a library of board games they let people at the store play, they just essentially make you put a deposit by paying $5 and then giving you $5 in store credit. Maybe something similar near you?
@Rgerman49@Technicallyowen@QasimRashid Which tells me that I need to be concerned about "many" people whose response to rampant police killings is to opine that people like me are "dangerous" and the police are justified in just assuming me to be a threat and shooting me. Thanks a bundle.
@Rgerman49@Technicallyowen@QasimRashid What I find far more sad is that people like you crawl out of the woodwork every. single. time. to defend police officers when a man armed with a pistol shoots a "scary" "insane" woman armed with a fucking PEN.
@Rgerman49@Technicallyowen@QasimRashid Many of those police skirmishes are the fault of insufficiently trained cops interpreting literally anything a black or mentally ill person does as a threat, and being told by a fundamentally broken system they can do anything if they just chant "I feared for my life".
William "Iran-Contra Is My Resume" Barr is literally threatening any community that opposes police when they abuse their power with the removal of police protection. But remember, children, there is nothing autocratic or horrifying about this administration. It's just angry Dems.
Yesterday, AG William Barr complained about certain communities not giving "respect and support" to police ad suggested they "might find themselves without the police protection they need".
Let's. Not. Mince. Words. The communities he is talking about are majority-PoC communities like Ferguson. Communities that routinely suffer police abuse. To suggest they will lose police protection is a) laughable, as they don't HAVE it, b) literally the words of a police state.
@sqiouyilu@segfaultvicta can we add "beloved of Ishtar" and "permanently on 'I'm still mad at you but you're still cute, call me sometime' status with Ereshkigal" to that list, or is that detracting from the point

I am eager to hear how @realDonaldTrump intends to address this very serious threat to a private org attempting to oppress the free expression of a religious group's beliefs. The admin, after all, routinely professes a desire to protect religious freedom.
reminder that the "reeeee" scream thing? it's actually derived from an "autistic screeching" meme that is super ableist and gross so please be aware and do not use it
Behold, denizens of the Internet: Karl Popper's "Paradox of Tolerance" in its most raw and idealized form, as undeniable as the blueness of a clear noonday sky.

So just so we're clear: it is the position of #Blizzard that Every Voice Matters, unless it's a voice saying something they don't like, and also that even literal actual Nazis should feel welcome. Also that opposing literal armed oppression is "divisive".
By the way - who, exactly, was made to feel "not safe" by blitzchung saying that Hong Kong should not be violently oppressed? Should not the opposite also hold true - that Hong Kong players are made to feel "not safe" by Blizzard punishing someone for advocating for them?
@Nemisisis@4everNeverTrump @cakes_lane @LindseyGrahamSC And if that's the case, I guess you owe me a million dollars, because I (as well as literally anyone else willing to do basic due diligence) can answer that question: no. Hunter Biden was cleared of wrongdoing, and replacing Shokin led to the Burisma investigation being OPENED.
@Nemisisis@4everNeverTrump @cakes_lane @LindseyGrahamSC Biden was, at the time, the VPOTUS, acting on the direction of Obama. Who, much as I'm sure you wish otherwise, was in fact the duly and popularly elected President. And no, being POTUS does not confer the power to extort a foreign power to investigate a presumptive nominee.
