Aerospace engineer. Mainly an outlet to talk about all things TWD, anything zombie related, and cosmic horror.

@DiscussingFilm If you want to watch a movie that was probably similar but got almost no recognition, check out Sunshine directed by Danny Boyle. Loved the movie, very dystopia philosophical and scifi: https://t.co/qtb38fFEOu

@Sayance1@Sunshine__2007 You mean the vocal minority? Majority of people I know loved the ending. Good thing you’re not a script writer, cause that ending would be total shite
The reveal in Sunshine (2007) when the computer calmly lists a fifth crew member is a chilling pivot. In one quiet line of text, the mission shifts from science fiction to something far more unnerving.
Naw, they finish what they set up right from the opening. Sunshine repeatedly gestures toward humanity’s reverence for the sun, as seen in Searle and Kaneda. Pinbacker is just that idea taken to its breaking point. He represents total surrender to divine will. Capa represents human agency. Him standing on that crucifix-shaped console isn’t random, it’s the movie landing its argument, redemption comes from choosing action over fatalism. What you call cheap horror, those who understand Sunshine see as a powerful finale where science and faith collide in pure catharsis. And is it ever beautiful…
@RiletyR@KyleLeeWriter@TheCinesthetic These ppl don’t know half of what they are even saying. “Teleportational” and suggesting his existence is impossible says it all. Movie explained both. Guy wasn’t even paying attention to wtf he was watching.
@BattalionSDF@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN Except the third act is literally about what happens when you become addicted to the sun. Just admit you didn’t understand any of the film.
Last night, while I was looking around the storage room for one of Udo’s starring works, I found a DVD of “Sunshine (2007),” a film I used to love. I had actually bought it. I only remember seeing the movie once at the theater. A hard sci-fi film by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland. Watching it now, you realize the cast was incredibly stacked—even though they weren’t widely known at the time. Cillian Murphy and Benedict Wong from the Danny Boyle troupe; Michelle Yeoh and Hiroyuki Sanada; and Chris Evans and Cliff Curtis before their big break. What a lineup. I love how the first half is an intellectual kind of sci-fi.
@the_Rex_1991@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN This may be one of the worst takes ever. If you think this an event Horizon remake, you didn’t understand a lick of the film. Sunshine is a much much much better film in all facets
@Jac5Connor@mellyswellyy@Columned_ Um, it’s because it came out in a very popular and diluted year for film and was barely marketed under Fox Searchlights. You buffoon.
