I also grew up in a place that never went below +5C so; what's normal is relative.
@DanAshby04 At my company we don't try enforce consistency so much as build tooling to make consistency the easiest path. Sometimes that's linters, sometimes it's CI automation for compliance, sometimes it's static analysis on PRs that provide nudges to change something
@kmcphillips Wasnt he advocating for a win/win solution instead of arresting folks? Certainly sounded to me like giving credence to the protest but even if that wasn't his intent the effect was passing the buck to the next level of government.
Aside from being toxic, I think the “friendzone” is a young person’s complaint. When you’re in your teens & 20s it feels so easy to make friends.
Over 35 most everyone is like:
“A FRIEND? Thank Christ, this is amazing, let’s do projects, please don’t change jobs & move away.”
I don't know who needs to hear this, but your choice to give up the last eleven or so months of your regular life, being careful and socially distancing, could very well be the reason somebody else is alive today - and it will *always* have been worth it.
