Josh Whitman announced Monday that Tyra Perry won't return to #Illinois softball.

Perry put together a solid resume in the first half of her 11-year tenure. However, a last-place finish in the Big Ten this season led to the change.

The final score for Northern Iowa and Illinois is 10-4, in favor of the Panthers. Despite #Illinois slightly chipping away, it was not able to make a comeback. The #Illini will return to the field on Friday in Minneapolis to face Big Ten competitor, Minnesota.

Skylar Brennan led off for the #Illini with a single, followed by another single from Keirys Click. Eileen Donahue had a two-run RBI single to left field, scoring Brennan and Click. The score is 7-2 with the Panthers in the lead after the bottom of the first inning.
