I am grateful for the opportunity to travel and present at #INSAR2024 Thankful for new and old colleagues , an amazing keynote from an autistic person, and the first dissemination of my training grant with the Department of Defense @UNCTEACCH@AutismINSAR@UNCPsychiatry
One of the highlights today at #INSAR2024 was @clairebklein's presentation on a survey of unmet service needs among 40+yo autistic adults. High on the list were behavioral services and mental health services. Would love see data in future on unmet need for adult psychiatrists.
Today, the INSAR Board announced our incoming INSAR President-elect, Dr. Brian Boyd. Congratulations Dr. Boyd! And thank you to our INSAR Presidents, present, past and future #INSAR2024

I tried to make the absolute most of my conference experience! My last days of #INSAR2023 brought me to Fjäderholmarna in Stockholm and in a 19 hour layover to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. I had some great conversations and hopeful they lead to future international collaborations.
Hearing that other people have had to do these things to work and attend conferences did not make it easier for me. Supporting authenticity and conversation DID. I am SO GRATEFUL for my supports I had while away. That is what got me through it!
5 years owning a pump, the first time I broke one was in Sweden. I decided to go on a run to try to find one because at least I would be on a run if I couldn’t find one. I was stunned that all the mama needs were in the ENTRY WAY of the Apoteket Älvsjö Torg! #AcademicMama
I ran around Stockholm trying to see if I could ship her what I had been working so hard to do in Sweden. I couldn’t. I pumped in bathrooms, on planes, in hotel rooms of others, etc. I share this because I want other or future lactating people to not feel like we have to hide!
@FPGInstitute Dr. Sam Odom presented on data we’ve been working on to capture experiences across development from different race and ethnicity groups from toddlerhood to adolescence. #INSAR2023
Proud of the @UNCTEACCH research assistants who did a wonderful job presenting at their posters at #INSAR2023. I had posters at the same time but was lucky enough to be next to Tabetha Marsh @insanepickels and caught a conversation happening at Bridgett Kiernan’s!
Appreciating @DREAmSLabUSC and their panel. Daniella Florindez highlighting that when thinking about describing our communities and WHO the stories are about its good to add commas. We don’t have to use sound bites, we can add the descriptors! Location, neurotype #INSAR2023
Check out this wonderful thread by @SedgewickF about the panel on aging at #INSAR2023 including the questions and discussions! Featuring @clairebklein@UNCTEACCH clinical psych graduate student extraordinare in the first talk!
This session is again on ageing
Aut adults seem to be 2.6x more likely to develop early onset detention, mean age of onset 49 (5 years earlier than non aut)
