Good morning, Kentucky. Your Capitol is still standing and quite beautiful. Let’s hope the actions of those of us working inside can more closely match the outside appearance this snowy winter morning.
It may be contentious in the chambers, but it is peaceful in Frankfort today. After the riots in DC, I'm grateful for that. Violence is never the answer.

The 2021 Kentucky General Assembly, my 5th as your State Representative, begins today in Frankfort but my heart is still in the mountains. I’m missing home even more than usual this year. Wish us luck, courage and endurance. This will be a rough one.
Thank you, Letcher and Pike Counties, for electing me to a third term as your 94th District Kentucky State Representative. It’s an honor to serve the people and places that mean so much to me.
It is overwhelming to think our citizens sent Robert Goforth back to the Legislature.
Apparently respect for women, children and human life is a lost human trait.
Disappointed is an understatement.
Emerge Kentucky inspires women to run for office and we hone their skills to win. Over 250 women have been trained through the program, and 35 Emerge Alumnae are on the ballot today. We salute all of the women who have taken the brave step to run for office.
The words escape me right now. This is happening in Louisville as we speak. My Shero, riding partner, and colleague in the State House, the sponsor of Breonna’s Law, was one of the people arrested.
Absolutely and deeply unbelievable.
Is this the country we want to live in? That whoever is in power in any given year can simply rewrite the rules that we’ve followed for a few hundred years? Mitch McConnell is destroying our democracy. Right now. Today. He must be defeated.
I am committed to building a stronger Eastern Kentucky, especially at a time when we are working to restart Kentucky’s economy. The projects announced today will provide better infrastructure, better opportunity, better jobs & will further the innovation we see across the region.
