@WendydenOuden1@BenisonMrs We know the system, and took all the steps. We then also paid for years of tutoring and lots of books to educate ourselves. Tea was such says that up to 1 in 5 people are dyslexic, yet we don’t classify, recognize, or teach SPECIFIC strategies to help kids at an early age.
@WendydenOuden1@BenisonMrs It is infuriating to see kids struggle for so long, simply because the system doesn’t allow for the best help, when we as teachers and parents see it happening. Kids deserve better than the lack of funding and attention these types of things receive.
@WendydenOuden1@BenisonMrs My family has had the same experience. I began our journey in trying to best help my daughter when she was 4. It took until we paid for specialized testing in 4th grade, after trying for years to get it recognized and classified in school. My husband and I are both teachers.
