Colon (:) introduces something. You usually use it when what comes after is a list, or an explanation, or even a reveal.
An example is “she had one rule: never apologize” or “this is a list of things you should get from the market: eggs, tomatoes…”
It’s also used as the eyes in a smiley face :)
Semicolon (;) connects two complete thoughts that are related but could stand alone as separate sentences. It’s stronger than a comma but softer than a full stop.
An example is “Frank never apologized; he didn't think he was wrong”
It’s also used as the eyes in a winking face ;)
when I was a kid i used to think this was the best r&b song ever made. then i grew up and matured and realised that this is absolutely the best r&b song ever made.
I’m sure it’s been talked about, but the fact that a show with a primarily Black cast is doing this well and is the best comedy on network television is absolutely amazing. Go, Quinta!
i believe in re-reading and re-watching your favourite books & movies at different stages of your life.the plot never changes, but your perspective does.
randomly talked about weekend plans with a lady at my gym and she told me that her best friend passed away 8 years ago giving birth, so her and other girlfriends corrordinate with the father to bring the daughter to Houston and rotate weeks with her in July. they do activities, tell her stories about her mom, show old pictures, and take her to all of her mom’s favorite places. this weekend starts her week! probably the sweetest thing i’ve heard all year! 🥰🧡🥹😭
