Hard not to fantasize about a minor league park at UTSA after reading this. But also… very glad the administration has come a long way since these days
BREAKING RECORDS:
UTSA softball shattered attendance records this season, recording a 23.5% increase from 2025.
The Roadrunners hosted FIVE top-25 opponents in their best campaign since 2015.
I’m excited to announce that I will be officially joining @AlamoAudible this fall.
Same Rylan, just for a new organization - photos, game stories and all for @UTSAAthletics.
See you guys at the Alamodome 🤙
Arlette had 14 wins and a 157/109 strikeout to walk ratio
The other 8 recorded pitchers had 10 wins total and a 94/135 strikeout to walk ratio
Gotta get Arlette some help if they want to jump to that upper tier of the conference
D1Softball recognizes UTSA pitcher Arlette Hernandez as a Second Team Freshman All-American. Hernandez had a stellar season and ranked among the top pitchers in the NCAA in several categories.
Check out my write-up on a rough Game 2 in OKC last night. The Spurs need Stephon Castle to right the ship and overcome the injuries to Fox and Harper.

UTSA baseball throttling Texas State 9-1 in the second inning is what you love to see. It would be a great for the ‘Runners’ to avenge their first loss of the year back in February.
Best of luck in everything, Rylan! I couldn’t be more excited to follow in your footsteps. I’m honored to take over the sports page from you. Birds up!
Some news:
With my graduation just a week away, my time as sports editor at The Paisano has officially come to an end. I hope you guys have enjoyed our coverage of UTSA Athletics over the past year while I have been at the helm.
I took over @paisano_sports back in 2023 with the goal of shining a light on all of our fantastic athletes, and I truly believe we accomplished that.
I will continue covering the baseball team for the remainder of the 2026 season, and then I’ll be on to greener pastures.
Paisano Sports is not going anywhere, though. Brad Millwater (@brmi2723) will do a wonderful job in the role going forward.
Thank you, all. Birds Up 🤙

UTSA softball is starting its postseason run off right! Leading No. 10 seed Memphis 8-3 in the 6th inning. The winner gets No. 6 North Texas at 7 p.m. tonight.
#BirdsUp!
If you missed it in print this week, here’s my feature on softball’s star pitcher Arlette Hernandez. The freshman is in a class of her own.

A nightmare ending for UTSA softball yesterday spoiled not just Senior Day, but the series victory against Charlotte. The ‘Runners (23-29, 11-13 AC) are now 7th in the standings with one more series to go against East Carolina.
Game recap:

Heartbreak again. Charlotte’s Jenna Lord homers in the 8th and UTSA goes down in the bottom of the inning, 1-2-3. You have to feel for the seniors who just played their last game at Roadrunner Field, and came so close to a win and series victory.
FINAL
UTSA 6 - 8 Charlotte
