Sot, prej 34 ditësh, populli i vuajtur shqiptar po nxjerr në pah ata njerëz dhe ata burra që po bëhen Balli i Kombit. Si njëherë e një kohë, edhe në këtë foto shihen tre figura të njohura të mendimit dhe veprimit kombëtar shqiptar: Mit’hat Frashëri, Skënder Muço dhe Abaz Ermenji. Tre burra që, në vitet më të vështira të historisë së Shqipërisë, gjatë Luftës së Dytë Botërore, u rreshtuan në anën e patriotizmit dhe të përpjekjes për një Shqipëri të lirë e demokratike.

Skënder Muço ishte xhandar, pjesëtar i Ballit Kombëtar dhe hero i Betejës së Gjormit kundër pushtuesve italianë. Ai i konsideronte forcat gjermane barbare në sjelljen e tyre. U arrestua nga regjimi gjerman dhe u ekzekutua së bashku me dy ballistë të tjerë.

Mit’hat Frashëri ishte politikan, intelektual dhe themelues i Ballit Kombëtar. Ai ishte djali i Abdyl Frashërit, një prej ideatorëve të Lidhjes së Prizrenit. Mit’hati ia kushtoi jetën çlirimit të të gjithë trevave shqiptare nga diktatura e Enver Hoxhës, Jugosllavisë dhe administratave shoviniste greke. Ai vdiq në mërgim, ndërsa biblioteka e tij mbresëlënëse, me rreth 40,000 vëllime, u përdor nga regjimi komunist i cili ndërtoi fondin e Bibliotekës Kombëtare.

Abaz Ermenji ishte historian dhe veprimtar politik. Gjatë viteve 1934–1938 kreu në Sorbonë, Paris, Fakultetin e Letërsisë, me specializim në histori. Ai u arrestua nga italianët si një nga organizatorët e rinisë korçare në manifestimet e 28 nëntorit 1939 kundër pushtimit fashist dhe u internua në ishullin e Ventotenes. Sapo u kthye në Shqipëri, mori pjesë në organizimin e rezistencës së armatosur kundër pushtimit të huaj në zonën Skrapar–Berat dhe arriti ta mbante Beratin të lirë nga italianët. Ishte një nga organizatorët e Ballit Kombëtar dhe anëtar i Komitetit Qendror të tij. Pas rithemelimit të Ballit Kombëtar në Shqipëri, në vitin 1991, Abaz Ermenji u zgjodh dy herë radhazi kryetar i kësaj partie, në vitet 1994 dhe 1998. Në zgjedhjet e vitit 1991, ai arriti të mblidhte 81,822 vota, edhe pse, sipas tij, një pjesë e votave u vodhën nga ai që Ermenji e quante “diktatori qesharak”, Sali Berisha.

Sot, shpirti i këtyre atdhetarëve përçohet te çdo shqiptar që e do vendin e tij. Populli shqiptar, që prej 34 ditësh lëngon nën regjimin e njerëzve pa shtyllë kurrizore, klith dhe përsërit shprehjen mbyllëse të Dekalogut të Ballit Kombëtar:
