@BarclaysUKHelp Thanks so much Ramona for this information I already have, now please just give it up. You work for the most ridiculously evil bank and they ruin people’s lives. I admire your effort but you cannot fix everything they have messed up with these inane replies
@BarclaysUKHelp What for? I already made a formal complaint that you violated GDPR on my account and got the brush off. There is nothing be done, it’s just that you are the absolute worst and I will spend the rest of my days telling your potential customers as much
We’ll always support NHS staff who fight against unfair working conditions
Please RT if you will too
Fair pay will help improve staff retention, increase the workforce size and boost morale
Or in other words, benefit every single person who uses, or may need to use, the NHS

Having seen this do incredible numbers, I also want to share 3 examples of best practice to point out that it really doesn't have to be like this.
1. University of Liverpool - who cared about #LGBTinSTEM before anybody else and hosted an amazing event - the first I ever gave.
A story. Once upon a time I got invited to do a lecture on LGBT+ representation in STEM at a very prestigious university. I travelled across the country and arrived, as planned, an hour before my lecture. My host was busy so I was shuffled off to the Deputy Director of Teaching.
My lab is looking for a hard working and creative technician interested in understanding mechanisms of cell death. Please share. intereshttps://wd1.myworkdaysite.com/en-US/recruiting/upenn/careers-at-penn/job/Stellar-Chance-F9/Research-Specialist-A_JR00048145-1

A Nigerian medical student at Poland/Ukraine border (Medyka-Shehyni) told me she has been waiting 7hrs to cross, she says border guards are stopping black people and sending them to the back of the queue, saying they have to let 'Ukrainians' through first.
Is academia the only job where people are hired for the science they do, then we don't let them do that any more but give them a completely different job with no training or support?
this decade-long experiment in creating a market for students has been a disaster for education. working conditions unliveable. universities' global reputations decline
aiming for bums on seats and fees in coffers above all else has caused immense and entirely predictable harms
Just to clarify for academics not in the UK. It is not just that our pensions have been unreasonably + unjustifiably slashed, it is that this has happened on top of:
1. increased casualisation + precarity
2. increasing workloads
3. leaving staff not being replaced
