I worked my first weekend (ever!) at RBH stroke unit since stroke services merged across Poole and Bournemouth a week ago. It was very busy but I was made to feel very welcome. #7/7speechtherapydefinitelyneeded @Pooletherapies @RBCHTherapy

Thank you to the wonderful Bill Lindsay ex stroke unit volunteer, stroke survivor, baker extraordinaire. He’s been busy baking for the SALT’s, Dietitians, Physios and OT’s at Poole. He’s named this cake “Hope” @Pooletherapies @Poole_Hospital @StrokeAssocSW #hope#runningonsugar

Highlight of the day was Prof Pippa Tyrell talking about encouraging people to live their “best life” after stroke. Great quote from a patient who saw her brain scan. “I’ve got so much respect for my brain despite the massive hole in it. I’m now on my way to recovery” #UKSF19
Great introduction by @StalleyClaire to @MattHancock and @Tobias_Ellwood of our film explaining how the stroke teams of @RBCH_NHS and @Poole_Hospital are working together for the benefit of patients of our region. Watch film here: https://t.co/F9JQHjWKLf
