Excited to share our latest manuscript dedicated to the remarkable Donald F. Hunt, a true pioneer in the field of mass spectrometry and O-GlcNAc research! From Fringe to the Mainstream: How ETD MS brought O-GlcNAc to the masses https://t.co/i4TjDJuXZT
@UCDProteomics @ProteomicsNews @J_my_sci We did the trade in but the flex hasn’t been installed yet. I think the auto calibration alone will be worth it
@AmandaLSmythers @ProteomicsNews It’s wild to me that people don’t think biologists can click a couple times to select a canned method and get good results. Better LC’s, easy spray sources and columns that literally pop in. The trend over the last couple decades has been to get easier and more accessible.
@AmandaLSmythers I don’t think @ProteomicsNews statement here is true. Vendors have been making these instruments easier to use for years. The old Velos software was awful and clunky but they completely changed it when the QE dropped and it’s gotten easier and more accessible since then 1/2
@chrashwood Did they mention the cost? Empore 96-well playes seem to vary between $100-400 and S-trap 96-well plates are around $500 I believe. Would be curious to see where this new technology falls
@TTCooper_PhD I agree with others that those connection issues aren’t normal. I would make sure all the software and firmware on LC and MS are up to date
@GarciaLabMS @AmandaLSmythers Doesn’t the Stellar fit this box pretty nicely? Benchtop, fast, easy to use. Currently ranked as my 3rd favorite mass spectrometer.
If you’re at ASMS, check out these fantastic talks and posters from @BroadProteomics!! Talks will cover immunopeptidomics, proteogenomics of ODG and single-cell proteomics. Posters include our latest work in HDX-MS, TargetID, Olink vs. DIA-MS for plasma, and FFPE proteomics.
My team (Astral) is expanding and looking for new talent. We're hunting software, instrumentation and application experts. Have a look!

Certainly a cool approach. My only critique is that they used the wrong S-Trap cartridge. Minis are spec’d from 100ug-300ug and they only digested 50ug. How can you compare against a commercial product and not use recommended protocol. Surprised reviewers missed this
