I’m loving the helpful, thematic curation of these AI teaching resources: Guide + Assignments from @metalabharvard.
Beautifully done. Perhaps a model for CA higher ed with use of Canvas Commons for assignments? @AnnaRMills@iLearnNow#CCCAILearn
At the ❤️ of metaLAB (at) Harvard's AI Pedagogy Project is a collection of assignments for educators curious about how AI affects their students and their syllabi. 📚 Latest assignments by @eRomanMe, Helen Choi & Jessica Yurkofsky can be found here https://t.co/sMCv5cosAs
Yes. Relationships — the type grounded in mutual trust and critical care — are the human advantage and the key for all educators to transition into the AI era. #CCCAILearn
Sal Khan's prediction is probably accurate; AI tutors will be very engaging and responsive. But an AI tutor still won't really care whether you learn or not. It won't see you as a human being; it will simulate empathy and witnessing. That will still matter to educational outcomes.
@QCkiki2020 Thanks for sharing, Qiqi! I see so much care in this work. I love the translated versions you link to. In case you don’t know, you could copy your homepage, translate the text & link the buttons out to those pages. Just another (more accessible) option for your lucky students. ❤️
@saragoldrickrab@chinyereosuji Absolutely. Calling out & deconstructing that social hierarchy is so important. It also bleeds into the impersonal professionalism profs feel they need to perform. These are structures that perpetuate the dominant social order. They’re barriers to achieving equity.
@saragoldrickrab@chinyereosuji This is such a fascinating topic to explore. In community colleges (as you know), faculty don’t have a requirement to research. Their role is to teach. But identifying as a teacher still is not the norm.
@saragoldrickrab I learned how to teach from asking students about their experiences in my classes and making changes based on their feedback. They inspired me to drop my emotional armor and be authentic.
So excited to wear this tomorrow at the Bakersfield College Humanizing Fest! We are celebrating the hard work of BC faculty who have completed the Humanizing Online STEM Academy. It feels good to celebrate teachers. We should do more of this. https://t.co/rDHiIs4JrB @BAKcollege
